System Powerflushing
Why Powerflush?
The importance of powerflushing is second to none. As you can see from the before and after photos on the right this goes to show how sludged up heating systems can become due to lack of maintenance and poor installations.
The magnet in the photograph to the right was taken out of the powerflush unit after just the 1st of 25 radiators in this property. The customer has now got a clean, sludge free heating system and fully working radiators throughout the house, leaving them extremely happy with the results.
If your radiators are not getting hot enough, or at all, or hot at the top but cold at the bottom this could indicate your system needs a powerflush.

Power flushing Process
Power flushing is a lengthy job and can generally take all day to complete depending on how dirty the system is and how many radiators are at the property. During the process of the job a machine and magnet is connected to the heating system, this machine flushes hot water mixed with a cleaning chemical which assists in breaking down and removing the sludge and debris from the system.
All radiators are flushed together, and then singled out and flushed individually. Whilst each radiator is being flushed the engineer will check for heat all over the radiator, once heated the radiator will be shut off and the next opened. Once all radiators have been heated correctly the system is then flushed through with fresh clean water. During this process the magnet is cleaned several times to ensure all debris are collected and removed from the system.
